Job Description:
Primary Duties: Assists in the administration of the Teller area as delegated by the Branch Manager. Prepares reports, schedules, cash items, and audits. Serves as trainer for new tellers and provides on-going training. Provides the on-site leadership for enhancing a positive teamwork environment and is responsible for focusing our tellers activities on Branch Manager directives and bank goals. Other duties include opening, maintaining, and closing of all account types, processing deposit and loan transactions as needed, solving customer problems, achieving personal and office sales and service goals, cross selling and referring business to other areas, onboarding new customers, and taking consumer loan applications
Key Accountabilities:
- As assigned by Branch Manager, coordinates the activities of the teller area by scheduling staff, assigning work, answering questions, resolving problems, assisting with complex transactions and sensitive customer problems, and administering and explaining policies and procedures.
- Provides insight to Branch Manager concerning teller performance.
- Assures all tellers balance accurately and in a timely manner at the close of business day; assures all monies are secured according to established security procedures.
- Assists with training for new tellers.
- Responsible for regulatory compliance.
- Represents the bank to the customer in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
- Recognizes and reacts to cross-selling opportunities; responsible for achieving individual referral goals as well as branch goals; coaches employees when needed.
- Performs Teller duties as required, including accepting over-the-counter loan payments and deposits to checking and savings accounts; cashing checks; processing night deposits, mail deposits and business drop-off deposits; processing coin; balancing cash drawer, etc.
- Provides exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assessing customer needs. Answer questions regarding Bank products and services. Opens new deposit accounts. Manages customer portfolio, services relationships and cross sells appropriate products and services to meet customer needs, assuring customer satisfaction, and achieving personal and retail sales goals.
- Sells retail banking products and services to customers and prospects. Accepts loan applications including obtaining income verification documents.
- Responsible for direct participation in the achievement of personal and retail sales goals.
- Generate production reports such as sales production and daily action plans.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills/education/experience required: Prefer minimum of 3-5 years of teller experience; previous management/leadership experience a plus. Exceptional customer service, communication and leadership skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task; excellent organization skills; excellent knowledge of bank products; flexible and adaptable to a changing environment; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
