Job Description:

The position of Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for supporting the Residential Mortgage Loan Officers by processing mortgage loan applications from the point of a completed initial application to creation of the closing documents. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Understands and helps manage the current pipeline of work that the MLOs need accomplished in a timely manner.
  2. Proficient in Byte Pro Enterprise and Laser Pro including, but not limited to, maintenance of tasks, scanning, document creation.
  3. Work closely with all office personnel to ensure smooth processing of customer mortgage files.
  4. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of underwriting and government regulations.
  5. Ensures all loans are closed and processed efficiently and accurately.
  6. Ensures the preparation and processing of forms and legal documents required for residential loans.
  7. Initiates the subject property appraisal process through the proper appraisal ordering support staff.
  8. Arranges for title searches and obtains necessary documents.
  9. Prepares loan files after closings; performs secondary review of compliance checklists and secondary market requirements for sale eligibility.
  10. Assists with escrow processing, hosting closed loans to the core, initiates entries to the core for participations sold, submits necessary data to secondary market investors.
  11. Provides quality service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage loans.  Provides support to all areas of the department and other areas of responsibility where service or assistance is needed;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefer two years of business-related college courses or related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent personal computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and procedures a plus.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
