Primary Duties:

The Peoria Market President is responsible for supporting the mission of the bank; managing all retail and commercial functions of the Peoria office; guiding new business efforts and lending functions to meet loan and deposit goals and ensure the effective and profitable operation of the branch; maintaining a commercial lending portfolio and managing customer relationships.  Management of the Peoria commercial lending staff includes monitoring sales activities and results and holding the lenders accountable for those activities and results.  The Market President participates in senior management decision making.

  2. Plans, controls, and manages the resources toward established bank objectives by performing various management duties, including branch compliance with policies and regulatory requirements and assisting in the development of short- and long-term objectives for profitability.
  3. Develops, implements, and achieves annual goals and objectives as established in the annual operating plan.  Regularly monitors sales activities and results for commercial lending staff; holds lenders accountable for their sales activities and results to assure bank goals are met.
  4. Actively pursues further penetration of the market by making business development and general service/public relations calls on present and prospective customers to maintain present business and relationships as well as develop new business and relationships.
  5. Maintains active community involvement in order to project a positive image of the company and to support business development activities.
  6. Organizes management, i.e. structure, human resources, etc., in order to achieve objectives.
  7. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, overall safety and soundness, and the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, i.e. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc. and insures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.
  8. Directly supervises assigned management and support personnel, including selecting new personnel, assuring proper training, regularly reviewing employee performance and conducting annual performance reviews, organizing, scheduling and distributing work among assigned personnel.
  9. Communicates and interfaces with management personnel throughout the company in order to integrate objectives and activities.
  10. Provides periodic reports to the Board of Directors, and other groups, committees, or individuals as required.
  11. Maintains advanced knowledge and awareness of financial industry status and trends.
  12. Actively upholds the organization’s vision, mission and values, encompassing mutual respect, honoring commitments, working with integrity and accepting responsibility for own actions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15 or more years of related experience and/or training
  • Advanced sales and customer relationship-development skills
  • Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible branch or department operations, lending, and supervisory activities
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for multiple employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills
  • Intermediate skills in computer operation and word processing and spreadsheet software programs
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
